This was the exhibit at the Jepson Museum in Savannah while I was there... An exhibit of Monet, Matisse and everything in between. Renoir, Cassat, Sargeant, Van Gogh It was so impressive to see them up 'close and personal' as the saying goes..
This one above is a Matisse, and here's a few more including Renoir's Storybook .
If you think I haven't seen many original impressionist paintings then you would be right. And I loved every minute there.
And the Riverboat on the Savannah River at night. My phone camera is not that clear from the 9th floor, but the sight was spectacular.
And this one below
was from my cousins IPhone so a good clear photo right after it passed.
I think any artist would love the city of Savannah. So, Whats not to like ???
Spent my birthday in Savannah, Ga. A big old Southern town with so much history and places to visit.
Very old mansions, beautiful 200 year old oak trees and every thing is built around 'Squares'.
It's home to SCAD ...Savannah College of Art and Design.
Very artsy, art students everywhere.
Little walled in courtyards, tons of plants and green stuff.
This is a good time of year to go there, perfect weather.
Restaurants, cafes, and great hotels.. Then there's City Market, River Street for shopping.
So many places you can paint.. Lamp posts, interesting architecture. I was there four ? years ago and always wanted to go back.. So I did. My first cousin Joanne flew to Savannah and I drove up from Florida..
And since she's from up north we had to visit Tybee Island a beach town across the river... So the Tybee Lighthouse.
First I want to say thank you to all my online and blogging buddies that wrote to send their thoughts and prayers before and after the hurricane.. I appreciate it so much.
Jen and I are fine..
And the next thing I'm sending you a picture of this Walking Stick.. He was on a tree in back.. He's over
5 inches long... Yes, I measured him .. LOL !
Ok so he's not gorgeous, but give him some credit for growing that big !!!
Leaving for a few days to one of my favorite places, Savannah, Ga. I'll take plenty of pics and hopefully new enthusiasm for watercolors.
Sunset the night before Hurricane Michael.
Neighbors house. This is what happens when you live in a canopy of trees, but I love them.
An artist friend in Tallahassee.
I'm just able to get online as our power came back last night.
Just wanted to say Jenny and I are ok. Damage all around.
But this place was spared.
We are a city of large oak trees that are over everything.
That tore into everything. Roads, homes, electric wires.
Thanks everyone who wrote..
The last time I went to Panama City this quaint little coastal town was beautiful... We are waiting for Hurricane Michael to go onshore there ..
I'm just north of Tallahassee , and it looks like we'll get it here also. Fingers crossed and prayers ..
And this is Appalachicola last time I was there. About 6 months ago..
