An iris that I painted today. Even though they look easy to paint, I find them a little difficult.. As you know from my recent whining I'm without my own computer. It's in the hospital and hope it survives the surgery. !!

Simply beautiful. Beauty in simplicity!
ReplyDeleteI have had extreme difficulty in painting iris so I admire anyone that can paint them. Yours are lovely. Excellent watercolor skills showing here.
ReplyDeleteI think both of these are lovely. There are so many parts to the iris, it's hard to get it right without making it stiff - and you kept your paintings loose. Nice work (hope the computer returns in tiptop shape).
ReplyDeleteMy mom has painted many flowers in watercolor for many, many years. I have one of her irises here. (shhh. I love this one best though!)
ReplyDeleteVery vibrant. Hope you get well soon.
Hi Barbra!Really nice brushwork here!Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWell! I'm saying a big thank you for all your nice words on my iris..
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful I agree I would think they are very difficult because each flower is a personality of its own. Well done for such a great work
ReplyDeleteI think Iris are very difficult, I don't know why. I keep telling myself they are just shapes! Your's turned out very nicely. My magnolia tree is blooming and I'm finding that the blooms don't even last a day in the FL sunshine. Boo, hoo. I wonder what would happen if I picked one and brought it in to paint? Have you ever tried it?
ReplyDeleteThese really are superb--just what I want to do when I sit down to paint irises! (but haven't managed yet). Gorgeous shapes and colors, with that characteristic paperiness of irises. Really beautiful !!!!
