Strawberry Festival Art Show

 

The annual Strawberry Festival starts in 2 weeks. 

 Plant City, Florida is known for it's strawberry farms.  People come from all over to be at the festival.. Of course more than strawberries are there. It's from Feb. 27 - Mar. 9. 

Our art guild puts on an art show, which I've participated for the past 2 years and again this year.

 This year I was asked to donate a painting for the raffle which benefits a scholarship that we support.. So above is my donation. I hope it goes to a good home.. I painted it a couple years ago.. it's matted and in a 16x20" frame.

As for an entry into the judged show I'll be putting in 'Prima' the  ballerina girl. While I'm at it I'm posting another finished piece that I did recently .. (below)

Art At the Cottage

Although a beautiful place for an art show, weather perfect this event didn't draw the people as we thought it might.
It was the first time held here and we'll definitely do it again.
It's still hot and humid here and drained me even though it was only 5 hours.  It was shaded by huge live oak trees, plants and flowers everywhere.. I could sleep in a tent right there in that garden.
Lotsa creepy crawly things though.. oh here's a pic of one of the trees loaded with Spanish moss...  BJ

These will be my entries for the Art Show coming on March 1st here at  Strawberry Festival.. it runs for eleven days . It's a juried show and I'm entering 2 pencil works and one watercolor. 
  I have no expectations of winning anything, as I've never seen pencil win over an oil.. However, these are my choices.
 My photos on the pencil are not true to life. The contrast is not there, but  a great photographer I am not.  BJ

Christmas Art Show

    

 Tonight is the Christmas Art Show.. 
 I've chosen 3 watercolors to bring .
   This is not so much a  show to sell, but more of an exhibit of local artists.. I'll take photos . remember camera!  BJ  
      

My Choices

My art guild has asked that we exhibit some of our work at the Walden Lake Country Club for the Christmas Art Show.  Dec. 8.  

  I'm glad to do it and have made some choices ..  They aren't final yet, but I know I want to put in three watercolors and one drawing so I may change it.. These are photographed framed under glass which has reflections if you can get past that.  BJ
