In my never ending quest for looser style painting, I'm using a slightly different technique, and so far I'm ok with it. There's much room for improvement and I'm working on it. I truly like and admire photo-realism and I try for that in my pencil work..
However for watercolor... I want to achieve something different.

Love it, this will be the New You! You are the youngest person over 40 that I have ever met!
ReplyDeleteYou have no fear, Barbra!
Jerry, Thank you .. You keep me young with just such words.
ReplyDelete. I have been blessed by your coming into my life.
Your right, I have no fear. Fear stops us from love, from living and joy, .
Is there any other way to get through this life ? BJ
Me parece que ha logrado una hermosa acuarela, muy luminosa y suelta, un trabajo muy interesante
ReplyDeleteIt looks good BJ and I love the glowing colours. It looks like you are trying to use just one layer of wash as much as possible, and it's working well.

Thank you Keith.. You figured it out right !!!!
Thank you Betriz, I have taken the liberty of translating and posting it here.
I think that has made a beautiful watercolor, very light and loose, a very interesting
I love this loose painting, it worked very well!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful cactus, BJ! I always like you artistic style, no matter how you choose to go about it.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrasting colors and your new style!
ReplyDeleteBJ,
ReplyDeleteYou are a great painter, no matter the style you choose. It's all great. I love this, color, composition and textures. And you most certainly achieved the effect of a looser style. Well done.
Joan, I appreciate all comments, but this coming from you is certainly special.. Thank you so much.. BJ
ReplyDeleteLoose, a style I admire and aim for too. I spent sometime today looking through the entries of the TWCSA and commented to my husband that they were mostly photographic or pretty close to and hardly a splash or dribble to be found. Is it not fashionable in shows I wonder
ReplyDeleteIt's really lovely, Barbra Joan. The greens are beautiful, and the variety of yellow-oranges is super!
ReplyDeleteBy George, you've got it! Barbra Joan, this is beautiful. I must say, though, I would not describe your previous work as photorealism. It is not as loose as this one, but it's very painterly. All that you do is such a lovely reflection of your spirit.
ReplyDeleteYour right Mary, my realism work comes out more in my graphite/pencil.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I'm trying for impressionistic in my watercolor.. Not easy though to get in between the fine line of loose and childs play.
You have managed it oh so well.
Barbra joan
