An oil painting I've attempted. This is from a photo I took on the West Coast when I lived out there in the late eighties. Not especially good, but it got me started and maybe I'll attempt a few more.

I am one pacific coast crazy painter! Loved your version Barbara!
ReplyDeleteI like this and am impressed you paint in oils, too. I've never tried it. I think maybe the foreground and background sandy areas need more variety from each other as they are 2 large blocks of color (and love the color in the background with rusts and greens and goldens). Just my humble opinion, though, so take it with a grain of salt (or two!).
ReplyDeleteRhonda, thanks for your input. It's well taken.
ReplyDeleteYes a little known fact is that I started painting in oils as a teenager, on and off until I discovered watercolor. So this is my first attempt
again after 30+ years.. and it's easy to forget a lot.
Dear BJ - I didn't know you painted in oils...girlfriend you have so many hidden talents. I think this is off to a lovely start. Will be anxious to see more. Have a great day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely atmosphere. Your brush has done full jestice to the Nature's beauty.
