Day after I got home I started this pencil drawing of the rope.
I chose this for the texture, light , darks, and possibly because I felt wound up like this .
I knew if I could submerge myself in something this detailed I'd have less time to think about myself. It worked. 8"x10" . BJ

Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat is so realistic! It amazes me how some people can get so much life from a pencil or pen.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! that is so very cool, Barbra! Glad it is not a hang man's noose! Unraveled and frayed, it will be coming apart soon! and then you can skip rope with it! Dancing in Paris soon, I know!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jude and Judy, yes life is anywhere you want to find it..
ReplyDeleteJer, yes I'll be dancing with you in Paris..
( soon as I learn to walk again) LOL BJ
I love this work, Barbra, it's so meaningful. This is a real work of art to me, because beyond the skill to do it so well you managed to convey something very personal. I think art save us from the banality of everyday life. Hope I could tell you what I think, my english is not enough, sometimes...Wish you all the best
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing! What a great way of taking your mind off of things. I hope you are recovering well? :0)
ReplyDeleteBJ - what a wonderful piece of art. It is super- I am amazed you got busy as soon as you got home and created something so lovely. Love Debbie
ReplyDeleteThis looks stunning! I am sure the creative time on this one was a perfect time in the present moment for you..I call this a successful work of art because I exactly know what you are trying to convey!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous dearest BJ. Your pencil work is amongst the finest I've seen. And the sad truth is that I live every single day feeling wound up tight like this.
ReplyDeleteYour talent astounds me! Thanks, too, for being such a great cheerleader for me! Hope all is healing well - xoxox
