As I was working on it, I started to think how much our lives are like this string of beads. Large, small, bright, dull and dark , one continuous line with no beginning, no end that you can see.
Life has big events, small ones, happy bright times and dull somber dark days.
It goes on in a perpetual line, but has detours, over and under, ins and outs. We don't really know where it begins, we don't know where it ends. I think I'll name this 'Life is a String of Beads' BJ for jj
Wonderful post, very reflective.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful painting, and a very thought provoking post. Superb!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I thought this was a photograph, BJ! And my string keeps breaking and I just have to keep picking up beads and try to figure out how to re-string them! (Oy!)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful BJ and so your thoughts so very true.. I love it. love,Diana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting BJ. All those beads must have taken you ages. I love the cast shadows that make the string jump out of the paper!
ReplyDeleteA very true description of the path of life too!
Wow! This is BEAUTIFUL!!! And so inspiring! It makes me want to do something similar too, but I have never thought of it! It is really pretty and just my cup of tea :0)
ReplyDeleteI just loved the philosophy behind this lovely work Barbra.. at first I thought they were real beads.. the way you laid your shadows beneath the beads made them alive!
ReplyDeleteBarbra, very powerful writing -- makes me think. Also, I am in awe of this lovely watercolor. You achieved such realism!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I finish jury duty on a criminal case I hope to write a bit more about my workshop in Provence.
Hey thats a great idea. I might add it to my "one day" list. LOL
