What I've been doing

I've been working on a series of watercolors,  of women...   they're not portraits, they just represent a softer  feminine touch to this otherwise world in turmoil... They aren't even good , ,but news of the day is bad and it gets worse ... I want to do something about it,  but can not...  so I'm painting pretty things.  No, not hiding out , just frustrated, disappointed in the state of affairs  both here and around the world.  What a mess!
I'm beginning to wonder who and what we are .  Oh,  let me just go paint   .  It  saves  my sanity.  BJ

  2. They are gorgeous!
And we can't do anything about the big things in the world, but we can do something small: create beautiful things. It makes the world a better place!

  3. Barbra, you have a "hit" here, what a wonderful and collectable series! Sign 'em and number 'em and sell them!

  4. I love these. They are so soft and feminine. While looking at them, the news of the day seems a million miles away. Beautiful.

  5. BJ, these are lovely. As Judy says, we can all do something, however small, and you have made a lovely contribution with these pieces.

  7. These are SO pretty! The middle one looks just like you!
I know what you mean about the world we are living in. 'It's a free country' seems to have taken on a whole new meaning around here! Thankfully, things have calmed down in the UK and hopefully things will change now and people like that will face very tough charges.
Sometimes I worry for my children and what sort of world I have brought them in to. I am sure the good people still outweigh the bad though :0)

  8. Beautiful paintings, BJ.
If we all keep filling our corners of the world with light, beauty and love, eventually, it'll spread! xx

  13. These paintings are gorgeous Barbra, especially the centre one. You say they are made up, but have you really drawn the figure work in your head?

  14. Thank you Frank.I appreciate your comments. I believe we have to get an 'idea' from somewhere, somehow.. and although I've gone on to paint more of the same subject these first few were taken from photos, .It was an excercise to see how well I could do with them.. I was happy with the trials.
My best work seems to be women and flowers, so many times they do come from my imagination, and I don't believe I wrote in this post that they were. I'm glad you liked them.. I'm working on more and will post those also.. BJ
